South West Four Festival (cancelled)

It's the perfect book end to the festival season, the South West Four Festival is back in late August with the usual box of musical goodies. Lucy Skoulding reports

The South West Four Festival will return to Clapham Common on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of August 2020 with anticipation is already building ahead of the event. In 2019, SWF celebrated its 16th year with a stellar line up of acts including Craig David, Tinie Tempah and Armand Van Helden.

The festival has become one of the best loved events of the annual UK festival season with the late August date meaning that the musical extravaganza coincides with the August Bank Holiday Weekend – the last public holiday until Christmas. This means revellers are even more keen to let their hair down and party at the last big event before the UK winter descends.

Plans for the 2020 event have not been announced yet but if it is anything like the 2019 event then festival goers are in for a real treat. Last year’s event saw SWF’s best ever line up of artists with the aforementioned Craig David and Tinie Tempah heading up the roster.

The full event comprised a mind blowing 10 stages and over 100 acts, with the diversity of the musical offering a major selling point of the festival. With no one music prioritised, festival goers were able to take their pick from an eclectic mix of house, EDM, electro, trance, techno and a whole host of other sounds.

The festival may not be as widely known as some of its famous siblings but the 2019 event was the best selling year for the event in its history and 2020 is already promising to be bigger and better.

The South West Four Festival 2020 has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus Crisis. More information can be found here.
