The Hackney Half Marathon offers participants a chance to run through some of the capital’s trendiest and most cutting edge environs on their way to the finishing line. This year sponsored by sports marketing company Limelight Sports, the Hackney Half is the perfect warm up for some of the many full marathons that take place in London over the summer months.
The Route
The route for the event has changed. Previously, runners event went down Mare Street before traversing Broadway Market but now the event takes a different path which avoids Mare Street while still taking in the Hackney Empire, Broadway Market and London Fields as well as elegant Victoria |Park and graffiti lover’s favourite, Hackney Wick. The race starts and finishes at Hackney Marshes.
Entertainment
Once of the things that distinguishes the Hackney Half Marathon from many of its rivals is the extensive entertainments and liver performances that take place before, during and after the race.
