Masterpiece London is a world leading art fair which gives collectors an opportunity to view, examine and buy works of art, antiques and jewellery from over 160 international exhibitors in the beautiful setting of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea.
Back for its 10th year in 2018, Masterpiece is the number venue for viewing and buying art in London. While the Affordable Art Fair has some incredible art the fair is geared towards those on a budget while Masterpiece is much more geared towards those who know what they like and are prepared to pay for it. In addition, Masterpiece is much more likely to showcase pieces that would normally be found in a prestigious museum or gallery. For example, in recent years, the fair has displayed work by Renoir, Pissarro, Monet, Lowry and Andy Warhol.
Set within the historic grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in a temporary tented structure, the fair plays host to a dazzling array of of cultural events ranging from panel discussions with world leading cultural institutions to art workshops to champagne tastings. The organisers of the event have promised that this year’s programme will have something everyone.
The art can certainly be a bit pricey but the fair is fun and glitzy and if your budget can stretch there are bargains to be had. However, even if you are not interested in the art, Masterpiece is a great place to indulge in a bit of people watching with the chance to spot a star or two.
So if you are an avid collector of art or just looking for a pleasant day out, the Royal Hospital, Chelsea is the place to head this summer.
Masterpiece London will take place this year from the 27th June to the 3rd July at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
