If you can’t make it to Windsor for the Royal Wedding but you’re still intent on seeing the royal family, then you could do a lot worse than buying a ticket for BST Hyde Park, as the event will be literally teeming with the Kings and Queens of rock and roll.
You’ve got to hand it to Barclaycard and the people who put this festival together, they really don’t mess about when it comes to finding headline acts, so for this year’s event we have rock and roll legend Roger Waters on the 6th of July, Eric Clapton on the 13th, Paul Simon on Sunday the 15th, as well as “up and coming” artists Bruno Mars on the 14th July, Michael Bublé on the 8th July and The Cure on the 7th July.
Barclaycard are calling it “the line-up to beat all line-ups” and you can hardly argue with that description. Take the Eric Clapton concert for example. Supporting Clapton on the night will be rock and roll legends Santana and Steve Winwood! It’s a mindblowing threesome and it will almost certainly be a night that lovers of guitar rock will never forget.
Or how about this for a supporting cast for the Cure’s 40th anniversary concert – the band behind such hits as Friday, I’m in Love will welcome Interpol, Goldfrapp, the Editors and Slowdive to party with them at Hyde Park! It’s some line up and it will certainly make for another memorable summer night in Hyde Park.
Not to be outdone, Bruno Mars will welcome man of the moment DJ Khalid to the stage for his gig on the 14th of July and Paul Simon will enlist superstar support from the likes of James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt on the 15th July 2018.
British Summertime is now in its sixth year with the festival proving a huge hit with music lovers the world over with its knack of attracting rock and roll royalty. Former headliners have included such luminaries as The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Lionel Richie and Jennifer Lopez.
BST Hyde Park will take place between Friday the 6th of July 6 and Saturday the 14th of July 2018.
