Christmas events in London really don’t come any bigger or better than Winter Wonderland. The winter festival has been wowing visitors for over ten years with its intoxicating mix of fun fair rides, ice skating, Christmas markets and food galore.
Now in 2022, the festival is back, and this year’s event is promising to be even bigger and better. The organisers of the event have added a host of new attractions including Peter Pan on Ice, the Teletubbies Christmas Show and an Ice Sculpting Workshop to the usual winning mix.
Peter Pan on Ice will bring powerful storytelling and world-class ice skating to Hyde Park using J M Barrie’s famous tale of lost boy Peter as the basis for a breathtaking skating, flying and special effect filled spectacular.
The producers of the show have promised “state-of-the-art animated scenery, dazzling costumes, fire-on-ice and original music and songs” and it all makes this version of the story a quite tantalising prospect.
The Teletubbies Christmas Show will give little Londoners a chance to join Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po as they pay a festive visit to Hyde Park. The show has been specifically designed for younger children with the producers promising that the characters will bring “a magical world of love, laughter and seasonal join-in fun to young visitors”.
Alongside the new additions, a host of perennial Winter Wonderland favourites are set to return including the UK’s largest outdoor ice rink, the giant observation wheel, the Ice Bar, The Snowman Experience and the Winter Wonderland Comedy Club.
Winter Wonderland 2021 will run from the 18th of of November 2021 until the 3rd of January 2022. Opening hours are 10am – 10pm daily (except Christmas Day).
