If you head down to Kingston Town centre this festive season, you’ll discover that the South West London town has had a festive makeover to coincide with the opening of its Christmas market. If you’re a central Londoner you might think that Kingston was a tad far, but the truth is that it’s only 25 minutes from Waterloo, so what are you waiting for?
The market is a popular attraction in the town which annually sees over 100 stalls take over historic Market Place and the surrounding area. t/he stalls sell a large variety of goods, including festive goodies, arts, crafts and Christmas gifts.
There’ll be plenty for the kids too with the Bentall Bears returning to Kingston, an extra special merry go round and a spectacular Elf Toy Testing Station.
When it comes to food and drink, there’ll be plenty of grub to keep you going with two large bar areas and a range of classic German-style street foods. The Alpine Village and the Market Square will be taking care of hungry tums with a festive selection including all the traditional festive treats egg nogg, mulled wine and gingerbread.
There’ll be opportunities to win a prize with the Kingston Selfie Competition. Selfie stations will be set up around the site – including a special festive frame which will allow you to take your picture inside with Toad from the Wind in the Willows.
Music fans will be catered for with performances from several local school choirs, a brass band and a variety of performances from popular local bands.
The event will run from the 14th of November to the 31st of December 2019.
