London seems particularly determined to do Christmas in style this year. The city is currently playing host to a seemingly neverending array of festive events and experiences, with several Winter Wonderlands, countless festive ice skating rinks, a plethora of theatre & pantomime shows and a Christmas market on every inch of available land.
Not to be outdone, the good people of Clapham have now thrown their hat into the ring with an exciting new winter festival which is promising to bring outstanding entertainment and delicious food to this corner of South London.
Winterville will open on Clapham Common on the 15th of November 2018 with a festive line up including comedy, magicians, DJs, musical bingo, Mexican wrestling, kid’s raves and a special Christmas show on a London bus.
Other attractions will include an ice rink, a Christmas maze, a roller disco, crazy golf and a massive big wheel. Food will come from Street Feast and there will be themed bars serving cocktails and craft beers.
If that were not enough, there will also be a series of ticketed shows in the Spiegeltent including Rabbit Rabbit Comedy, Mariah & Friendz, Chivaree Circus, Might Hoopla’s Christmas Jumpergeddon, Lucha Britannia Mexican Wrestling, Big Fish Little Fish family rave and The Cocoa Butter Club.
Winterville will join the lengthening list of winter festivals in London, with the flagship Hyde Park Winter Wonderland now joined by events at Walthamstow, Kew, London Zoo, Syon Park, Chiswick Park, Leicester Square and the Southbank Centre. Which means that for Londoner’s, Christmas 2018 is shaping up to be one of the best ever.
Winterville will not take place in 2021.
