It has consistently lived in the shadow of its big sister, London Fashion Week Women, but the Men’s equivalent of the showcase has plenty to feel confident about as another round of the festival approaches.
With consumer spending on Men’s fashion growing by 5.1% in 2018 and with celebrities of the stature of David Beckham taking an active role in the industry, British menswear Fashion has never looked in better health.
With the likes of Burberry, Gieves and Hawke, Hackett and Ted Baker winning admirers and customers across the globe, British menswear has never been held in higher esteem and within increasing interest in key markets like Japan and Korea, the outlook for the industry is bright.
This season’s edition of the festival will once again showcase the best of British design, with catwalk shows, presentations, a designer showroom and a series of special events throughout the week.
The Old Truman Brewery in a Shoreditch will be the venue for this year’s fashion extravaganza with the ultra hip area the perfect match for the event.
London is a major hub for the British menswear industry and the appointment of David Beckham as the president of the British Council has given the industry a further injection of prestige.
Beckham, who has his own brand, Kent & Curwen, recently told the Guardian: “More than ever, we have a real responsibility to engage and promote young and emerging creative talent”.
London Fashion Week Men’s will take place from the 9th to the 1ath of January 2021.
