Family friendly summer pop music festival OnBlackheath will return to South London this July with Jamiroquai and Grace Jones recently announced as headliners.
Funksters Jamiroquai will take to the main stage on Saturday the 13th of July with the age defying Jones performing on the next day
Jamiroquai will bring their award winning brand of deep funk and cool jazz to South London for what will surely be one amazing night with the band now in the Guinness Book of World records for the best selling funk album of all time. Famed for such hits as Virtual Insanity, Cosmic Girl and Love Foolosophy, the band have had seven albums in the UK Top Ten with 26 million albums sold worldwide.
Grace Jones is the Jamaican-American supermodel singer, songwriter and actress who made her name in the 1980s with hits such as Slave to the Rhythm and the irresistable cheek of Pull Up to The Bumper. In latter years the androgynous star has worked with a host of famous musicians including Sly and Robbie, trip-hop artist Tricky, Brian Eno and virtual band The Gorillaz.
Other big names already confirmed for the South London event include James Morrison, The Roots, Rag’n’Bone Man and UB40.
One of London’s more family friendly festivals, the 2019 edition of the event will again have a plethora of activities for the kids with a Family Playground area and children’s comedy club.
Popular kids character Sooty will hi oat a Birthday Bake off and Mister Maker and Andy Day from the CBeebies will perform with their band Andy and the Odd Socks.
Lovers of good food will not be left out either as market food specialists Street Feast handle the catering.
OnBlackheath has been a music festival staple since 2014 when the inaugural event rocked South London. Since that time the likes of have ensured that the music festival held its own against the likes of Barclaycard British Summertime, the Somerset House Series and newcomer All Points East.
