This one day house music extravaganza has become a staple of London’s summer music calendar, with a stellar line up of house music heavyweights once again set to take part.
The 51st State Festival returns to Trent Country Park in August 2022 following the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 events due to the Coronavirus.
51st State Festival Line up
The line up for this year’s festival has not been announced yet but previous years have seen the likes of Todd Terry, Dennis Ferrer, Kerri Chandler, Kings of House (Louie Vega & David Morales), Dimitri From Paris, Soul Clap, Todd Edwards perform at the event.
The information below relates to the 2019 festival. Details of the 2022 event will be posted as soon as we have it.
The Seven Stages of House
There will be seven different stages at the event. The GROOVE ODYSSEY MAIN STAGE will feature Kerri Chandler, Kings of House NYE, Louie Vega and David Morales. The FOUND STAGE (A-Z) will feature Ellie Cocks, Kevin Saunderson, Nick Curly and Todd Terry. The BACKTO95 STAGE will help us rewind to 95 with the likes of Todd Edwards, Wookie, Matt Jam Lamont and Master Stepz.
The WE LOVE SOUL stage will give us some old school feels from DJ Bigger, Jerry Bascombe as well as special live performances from soul legend Melba Moore and Kenny Thomas.
If that wasn’t enough, the HOT WUK stage will have Tanya Stephens, The Heatwave and Stylo G while the DISCO DISCO stage will have the always fantastic Joey Negro, John Morales and Seamus Haji.
The organisers of the festival say, “the event celebrates the roots of House music pulling together the threads of this hugely influential sound, exploring classic and tech house, garage, disco, soul, dub, dancehall and more”. The festival will showcase the many different strands of the genre with many of the house music’s pioneers included in the impressive line-up. The Trent Park site will be significantly enhanced with bigger arenas and an expanded VIP area.
The 51st State Festival will take place on Saturday the 6th of August 2022 at Trent Country Park. More information about the festival can be found here.
