Feeling a little jaded by what’s currently on offer on the London dining scene? Well, if you’ve got a taste for adventure, as well as for good food, then Sky High Dining might just be the event for you.

Dining in the Sky?

The attraction is the Emirates Air Line’s answer to the nearby London in the Sky experience, which sees parties of diners hoisted into the air on a 22 seater “Sky Table”. In comparison, Sky High Dining makes use of the Emirates Air Line’s cable cars, with a clever customisation allowing the insertion of a table into each cabin. For prices starting at a cool £100, diners get a five course meal plus bubbly. However, it’s the breathtaking views that most come for.

The Sky High Dining Experience

An evening of Sky High Dining begins at the Emirates Air Line Terminal. A section of the terminal has been transformed into a dining room/reception area with tables, chairs and waiter/waitress service.  It’s here that the first course is served, along with a first round of drinks. Once diners have finished eating, it’s off to the cable cars for some seriously spectacular views.

The second course is already waiting as diners board. Due to the physical constraints of the cable cars on the Emirates Air Line, parties all face the same way while eating, with a maximum of four diners in each car.

Once the cable car has safely touched down on the other side, the whole process begins again, with a dessert course now waiting for diners in the return cars. This yo-yoing continues until the whole meal is consumed – cocktails and all.
