OK, I what you’re thinking. Does London really need another 10k? However, before you rush to judgement, please note that this is not just another 10k. It’s the Hyde Park 10k.
That’s right, London’s most gorgeous green space is the location for this delightful summer run, with competitors running in the shadow of such world famous icons as Buckingham Palace, Marble Arch and Speaker’s Corner.
Given the setting, it is little wonder that the event is sold out every year – with runners literally clambering over one another to sign up for the race. It’s a two lap course with most of the run taking place on a tarmacked pathway running around the park.
The Hyde Park event uses the latest Chip Timing technology so that your record breaking efforts can be recorded as accurately as possible. Individual results will be available to view as soon as each runner crosses the finishing line.
To make the event extra special, each and every runner will receive a goodie bag and a medal for taking part with the top three runners overall reviving a prize. Prizes will also be awarded to the top runner in each of the veteran categories.
In case of mishaps, a fully qualified medical team will be standing by in the start area.
The Hyde Park 10k starts and ends at the Hyde Park Bandstand with the course passing the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain, Holocaust Memorial Gardens, Achilles Statue, Speakers’ Corner and the Old Police House on the way.
The event is licensed by the UK Athletics sporting body with the results forwarded to Run Britain within seven days of the race day.
