Described as the world’s first super boutique hotel, the Londoner will boast 350 rooms, five restaurants, a rooftop bar and two cinemas when it finally opens in Leicester Square.
Due in early September 2021, the venue is also promising a spa, swimming pool, gym and tavern, the last of which will offer unplugged music performances on a daily basis.
The Londoner is the work of hotel chain Edwardian Hotels, whose Creative Director Rob Steul told the Evening Standard recently: “Our goal is to make Leicester Square even more of a destination than it already is. The brief was to make a quality building that will give back to London.”
The new hotel is set to open on the site of the former Odeon Cinema West End. Edwardian hotels paid a cool £100 million pounds for the plot and they have spent a further £300 million redeveloping the site. The result is quite breathtaking with stunning interiors and a host of super deluxe facilities and features.
The Londoner boasts 16 storeys, 350 rooms, a wellness retreat, ballroom and numerous event spaces with a quite stunning 6 new restaurants and bars including the high end Whitcomb’s, the West End theatre inspired The Stage and the breathtaking rooftop restaurant and bar 8 at the Londoner.
There are also two cinemas, a private facility for members (complete with a restaurant and bar) and an in-room dining experience that will revolutionise the way we think about room service.
The opening of the hotel has been delayed on several occasions due to the pandemic but the launch finally looks set to go ahead on the 6th of September 2021 with the interiors of the venue long finished and the opening team in place and ready to great guests.
We’ll have more about the opening of The Londoner as soon as we have it.
