Following on from his successful stint on BBC flagship Strictly, Comedian Chris Ramsey has gone back to his day job, with a nationwide tour set to kick off in Coventry in the spring of 2021. Chris Ramsey Live: The 20/20 Tour will take in 70 dates and 60 cities with the comedian recently adding extra dates to the tour due to phenomenal demand.
Known for his boisterous storytelling and boy next door charm, Ramsey has built up a solid following on the UK comedy circuit since he took his first tentative steps into lie comedy by hosting an open-mic night in Newcastle upon Tyne.
By 2008, Ramsey was already successful enough to receive a nomination by Chortle in the Student Comedian of the Year Award category. Ramsey followed this up with his first Edinburgh Fringe show, Aggrophobic, in 2010.
Since then, the comedian has become a regular face on TV with regular appearances in Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Celebrity Juice.
Ramsey has also toured extensively during that period with Offermation (2011), Feeling Lucky (2012), The Most Dangerous Man on Saturday Morning Television (2014), All Growed Up (2015–2016), Is That Chris Ramsey? (2017–2018) and The Just Happy to Get Out of the House Tour (2018–2019).
In September 2019 Ramsey joined the line-up for the BBC1 flagship dance show Strictly. Paired with professional dancer Karen Hauer, Ramsey went on to confound both himself and many viewers by making it to the semi-finals where he and Hauer finished fourth. One of the most popular celebrities in the competition, Ramsey won the hearts of many viewers with his unrelenting enthusiasm and ability to laugh at himself.
Chris Ramsey Live: 20/20 Tour will be at the Eventim Apollo on the 3rd of September 2021 and the Hackney Empire on the 24th of September 2021. More information about the tour can be found here.
