With past guests including Tony Blair, Jacob Rees Mogg, Alistair Campbell and Nigel Farage, Matt Forde’s Political Party is not merely guaranteed to make you laugh out loud, the show also packs some heavyweight political banter into the mix, too.
The event, which has been running for three years now, is a comedy show with a difference.
Each performance features an hour of topical stand up from Forde, whose easy going style and is always likely to raise a laugh, followed by an in depth interview with a major political figure.
“This is a show for anyone” Forde says of the events, “as long as you agree”. However, with a range of targets that regularly cross the political divide and a sense of humour guarantees to leave you smiling regardless of your political persuasion, there really is something for everyone.
Forde began his comedy career while still working for the local Labour Party in his native Nottingham. The year was 1998 and Forde was just 16.
Since then, the comedian’s stock has risen dramatically. Forde is now a veteran of TV comedy, having written for such heavyweights as 8 Out Of Ten Cats and Russell Howard’s Good News. The comedian is also no stranger to the UK comedy circuit, with a series of successful comedy shows including 2011’s Dishonourable Member and 2012’s 2012, Matt Forde: Eyes to the Right, Nose to the Left.
In September 2016, Forde teamed up with satellite TV channel Dave to host Unspun with Matt Forde. The show takes a satirical look at the world of UK politics with in depth discussions of the issues of the day and up-to-the-minute political analysis. The show is now in its fourth season.
Performances of Matt Forde’s Political Party are currently suspended due to the Coronavirus Crisis. More information can be found here.
