Due to the Coronavirus Crisis, Junction 2 has gone virtual, with a ‘3D Digital’ event taking place on the 11th of July 2020. The website for the event says “J2v will take place in 2 worlds. There is our world, a land of rules and gravity. And there is the world we are creating. J2v will thrust the underground dance community together in both, merging the digital world with the natural and blending realities”.
Junction 2 Virtual (ok, J2V then) will take the shape of a six hour broadcast, accessible by both webcast or radio. There will be world class artists, DJ sets, three music stages and a plethora of surprises.
The Stages are as follows:
- The Console
- The Hex
- The Vault
Each stage will have its own unique character and atmosphere and Junction 2 are promising that over a dozen of the finest house and techno artists to grace the three stages during the evening.
The below article describes the cancelled 2020 live festival:
The Junction 2 Festival returns to Boston Manor Park in 2020 with another banging selection of house and techno tunes. Building on the success of the 2019 Festival, this year’s event will once again showcase some of the best DJs and musicians in the business, with Nina Kraviz, Joy Orbison and Marcel Dettmann amongst a host of performers lined up to perform at the event.
Other big names scheduled to take part at the park include Four Tet, Amelie Lens, Adam Beyer and Avalon Emerson. And if that were not enough, the 2020 event will also see Junction 2 unveil a sixth stage to add to the festival’s five existing performance spaces. The event’s soundstages have proved a huge draw with ravers, with each having its own unique character and atmosphere.
There’s the Main Stage with its raised platforms and all consuming sound. The Bridge with it’s cool subterranean feel and stomping, no nonsense sound system. The Woods, meanwhile, provides the perfect place to get lost in the groove, with its generous covering of trees and raucous atmosphere. If you fancy something a bit more old school however, the Warehouse is the place to head. Gloriously sweaty and self contained, the venue is the ideal place to go if you yearn for the industrial feel of classic raves past.
Junction 2 began life in 2016 as a 1 day festival. Initially set over three stages, the festival quickly began to build an impressive reputation for itself, with its ability to fuse the industrial feel of its venues with the natural beauty of the English countryside.
Set amongst Boston Manor’s leafy woods and enviable meadows, Junction 2 offers ravers a chance to enjoy the best of both worlds, with carefully curated industrial settings and some of England’s most unspoilt natural landscapes.
Junction 2 Virtual will take place on the 11th of July 2020. More information about the festival can be found here.
