If working from home is proving a challenge, then it’s about to get even more difficult thanks to Sky. The company has just announced that its Sky Store portal will in future premiere the latest cinema releases – on the same day as they are released in theatres.
The media giant has partnered with NBC Universal for the initiative, which will see a string of eagerly awaited movies winging their way to the small screen in the coming months.
Included amongst the films set to be debut on Sky Store are recent releases The Hunt, The Invisible Man and Emma. However, the first all new release will be Universal’s sequel to Trolls, Trolls World Tour.
“We’re working hard at Sky to make sure we continue to look after our customers” said the CEO of Sky UK and Europe, Stephen van Rooyen. “We’re also introducing some things to help make life a little easier for anyone at home trying to work, stay connected to loved ones, or keep the family entertained.”
The initiative is seen by both parties as a great way to ensure film lovers can still catch the latest movies releases – even during the current coronavirus crisis.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently advised Britons to avoid mass gatherings in order to slow the spread of the virus. However, the move has meant that a large percentage of the nation’s cultural life is currently off limits.
Sky is also working to ensure that its Broadband, Talk and Mobile services are as reliable as they can possibly be during the crisis. However, the really big news is the company’s cinema coup.
So, if you’re struggling to concentrate when working from home now – just wait until you tune into Sky Store!
Emma, The Hunted and The Invisible Man are now available to rent on Sky. More information about Sky Store can be found here.
