After several successful pop ups and residencies, vegan street food brand Club Mexicana’s first permanent site is now open in Soho’s Kingly Court. While the venue will officially open on the 1st of September 2020, the eaterie is already accepting diners as it undergoes a soft launch.
The Kingly Court restaurant features an open kitchen from which diners can watch their food being prepared, as well as a well stocked bar and seating area.
Club Mexicana specialises in plant based tacos and small plates with the eateries’ food ethos heavily influenced by the street food of Los Angeles and Mexico.
Owner Meriel Armitage had this to say of the new venue: “We’re so excited to open our very first restaurant in the heart of Soho. We’re looking forward to doing what Club Mexicana does best- great vibes, lots of tacos and banging cocktails. We’ll be dishing up more tacos than ever before, as well as our biggest street food hits and favourite dishes. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”
The restaurant will be serving up many of the dishes that made Club Mexicana’s pop ups so popular in East London. Dishes such as the beer battered tofish taco, MFC burrito with annatto glazed fried chick’n and BBQ short ‘rib’ tacos will be supplemented by the company’s Mexican fondue, queso flameado, and a selection of burritos.
The accompanying bar will serve a tantalising selection of regional cocktails, wines, and beers, with Armitage promising a mean margarita and also a great grapefruit palomas.
Club Mexicana is situated on Kingly Court, Carnaby. More information about the venue can be found here.
