The capital is about to say hello to its first large scale celebration of the mural as the London Mural Festival swings into town this September. The event will last for the whole month with over 150 artists and up to 20 large scale works going up around the city. Artists confirmed as taking part in the festival will include Dale Grimshaw, Gary Stranger, Camille Walala, Mr Cenz, Zabou and Bonzai.
To mark the end of the festival, a large scale multi artist event at Stratford’s International Quarter will be held, with the organisers of the festival promising to erect a 500 metre hoarding on which 100 artists will contribute their work.
The aim of the festival is to showcase the dazzling innovation and creativity of London’s many artistic communities while treating the city as a canvas itself.
The London Mural Festival will take place throughout September 2020 at a variety of locations throughout the city. More information about the festival can be found here.
