If you fancy treating yourself this winter, then it will please you to know that London now has its own dedicated profiterole delivery service. If that strikes you as a rather random addition to London’s rather enviable home delivery options, then it won’t once you’ve tasted The Proof bakery’s gorgeous bakes.
Known as Proofiteroles (naturally), the East London bakery’s take on the famous pastry benefits from generous amounts of Chantilly cream, not to mention a range of toppings which include honeycomb and salted caramel sauce.
And the profiteroles come with their very own chocolate sauce which you can heat at home.
The bakes are the brainchild of self-taught cook and baker Francesca Strange, who credits her Grandma and a well thumbed Mary Berry cookbook for her love of baking.
Strange began baking at an early age and her bakes were soon winning the young Italian a whole new set of friends.
When it came to choosing a career, however, the baking enthusiast chose music journalism.
That was not the end of the story however, as years later Strange decided to give up her high paying job in journalism to follow her passion for baking. The Proof was born.
Apart from her signature profiteroles, The Proof is famous for its wonderfully elaborate bespoke cakes.
The cakes are three layers deep and come in a variety of flavours, including Vanilla Bean Sponge, Chocolate Fudge, Lemon & Elderflower, Carrot and Red Velvet.
Better yet, the Proof’s cakes are available for home delivery, too, with a same day service for customers who order before 10am.
Yet even though the Proof website advertises both the profiteroles and the cakes as the perfect gift – who are they trying to kid?! They must know that these cakes are far too irresistible to give away!
