If you are the type of person that can’t resist a little food theatre when dining out – then you’re going to absolutely love Behind Restaurant.
The venue, which is set to open later this month in London Fields, will feature a massive open kitchen, with every seat in the house facing the food preparation team. Besides the chefs table approach, the venue will also feature a small wine bar and bottle shop.
Behind is the brainchild of Andy Beynon (Hibiscus, The Latymer). Beynon learnt his trade under uber chef Jason Atherton (Social Eating House, Berners Tavern) with the London Fields venue representing the young chef’s first solo venture.
And Behind will certainly showcase Beynon’s burgeoning culinary skills, with a mouth watering seafood focused eight-course menu. Highlights will include Hen of the Woods mushroom tea & French toast; native oyster, cucumber & wasabi taco; Cornish blue lobster with English muffin & yuzu and Secret Smokehouse chowder & Copper Maran yolk.
