Love Actually Live

The heartwarming festive favourite is exactly what the doctor ordered at the end of this strangest of all years. Peter Gray reports. Peter Gray reports.

Could we ask for a better treat at the end of this strangest of all years than Love Actually Live In Concert? The event, which combines a screening of Richard Curtis’s much loved movie with a live orchestral rendition of the fulm’s soundtrack, will begin a socially distanced residency at the Eventim Apollo in December 2020.

For the benefit of those of you who have been hiding under a rock for the last 15 years, Love Actually tells a series of interconnected stories of love and loss over one eventful Christmas in London. The film features an all star cast including such A listers as Colin Firth, Kiera Knightley, Chiwetel Ejiofor , Kris Marshall, Hugh Grant, Laura Linney and Emma Thompson.

This live version of the popular classic has become something of a cult favourite in the last few years, having completed several tours of the UK, not to mention having completed numerous sold out dates in London.  This is in no little part due to the quality of the music, with Craig Armstrong’s lovely score benefiting from having a full orchestra to bring it to life.

To ensure that the venue is fully compliant with current health and safety legislation, the Eventim Apollo have put into place a string of health and safety measures, including a one way system, enhanced cleaning, staggered entry times for ticket holders, and a reduced capacity at the venue. In addition to this, visitors to the venue will be expected to wear a face mask.

Love Actually the concert will be at the Eventim Apollo, on the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th of December 2020. More information about the event can be found here.
