Stephen Friedman Gallery 25th Anniversary Exhibition

The Stephen Friedman Gallery 25th anniversary exhibition will showcase a breathtaking diversity of works from artists associated with the gallery. Peter Gray reports.

In a special event to mark its 25th anniversary, the Stephen Friedman Gallery will host a month long exhibition at both of its Old Burlington Street venues.

Highlights of the show include a new painting by American artist Kehinde Wiley which continues the artist’s investigation into the hierarchies and conventions of classical portraiture, a series of hand painted works by British artist David Shrigley and an autobiographical painting by Denzil Forrester which showcases and celebrates his childhood home of Grenada.

Other artists included in the exhibition Marina Adams, Mamma Andersson, Juan Araujo, Tonico Lemos Auad, Leilah Babirye, Jonathan Baldock, Stephan Balkenhol, Claire Barclay, Lisa Brice, Melvin Edwards, Andreas Eriksson, Manuel Espinosa, Tom Friedman, Kendell Geers, Wayne Gonzales, Channing Hansen, Holly Hendry, Thomas Hirschhorn, Jim Hodges, Ilona Keserü, Rivane Neuenschwander, Ged Quinn, Deborah Roberts, Yinka Shonibare CBE, Jiro Takamatsu and Luiz Zerbini.
