Described as a ‘high-octane prison drama like no other’, Sky’s Intergalactic is promising fast paced thrills galore when it debuts on the channel later this year.

Written by the award-winning writer behind Prisoners’ Wives and The Secret Diary of a Call Girl, the series follows a group of convicts on a highjacked prison ship.

Free of their captors and set adrift in space, the group decide to a plot a course for the fabled free planet of Arcadia.

With a cast including Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson and This Is England’s Thomas Turgoose, it’s no surprise that Intergalactic is one of the most eagerly awaited TV series of the year.

What is Intergalactic about?

The series follows the story of intergalactic pilot and cop, Ash Harper, on a dystopian future Earth governed by a global authority called the Commonworld.

Wrongly accused of treason, Harper is sentenced to exile and unceremoniously dumped on a prison ship heading for outer-space.

Fate intervenes, however, when the ship is hijacked by the other prisoners who proceed to plot a course for the ‘free world’ also known as Arcadia.

Who’s in the cast of Intergalactic?

Savannah Steyn leads the cast of Intergalactic as pilot Ash Harper. Forced to give up her promising career when she is accused of treason, Harper is forced to reassess her goals and life plan.

Joining Steyn in the cast is This is England’s Thomas Turgoose as the hapless prison guard Drew while Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson plays Candy a good time girl whose wit masks a deadly drug habit that leads to a conviction for narcotics.

Bend It Like Beckhams Parminder Nagra also pops up in the cast playing as Ash’s mum Sharon while Line Of Duty’s Craig Parkinson appears as the powerful Director of the Common World Benedict Lee.

Who’s behind the camera on the series?

Intergalactic was written by the acclaimed writer Julie Gearey whose previous credits include Prisoners’ Wives and Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The show has been produced by Moonage Pictures and Motion Content Group, in association with Tiger Aspect for Sky Studios.

When is intergalactic on TV?

Intergalactic will be broadcast on Sky One and Now TV from the 30th of April 2021.
