London based community choir Some Voices have announced that they are launching an online choir class. Some Virtual Voices will run on Wednesdays during January and February 2021, with the sessions taking place over Zoom.
The classes begin with a series of warmups. Once these are complete, the group go on to tackle a well known pop song. Each participant is given instructions on what to sing (which means you don’t need to be able to read music). And don’t worry if you’ve got a voice like a partially blocked drain, as you’ll be on mute for the entirety of the session.
Each class ends with the group singing along to a video of the vocal parts of the song combined together. This gives participants a chance to experience the sound of the full choir.
At the first session on the 20th of January 2021, Some Virtual Voices tackled the David Bowie classic ‘Heroes’. Here’s a video of the group singing the song:
