Brought to us by the people behind North London’s Costa Del Tottenham, Ernie’s Yard will boast 12,000sq ft of clubbing and leisure space when it finally opens its doors in Canning Town this summer.
The new venue, which will take over the site of a former scrapyard on Bidder Street, East London, has been constructed entirely of repurposed shipping containers. The containers were purchased by Ernie’s co-founder Stuart Glen two years ago – long before he knew exactly what he would do with them.
“It’s been a sticky situation to say the least but somehow we’ve managed to pull in some favours, met an East End legend called Ernie and Bob’s your fathers’ brother — Ernie’s Yard was born, a killer new daytime space for London” says Glen about the new venue.
Killer certainly sounds like an appropriate adjective given the venue’s to die for facilities. Ernie’s Yard will boast a variety of differently themed sections, a dancefloor with a series of overlooking balconies, and an impressive street food section. You get the feeling that the venue could be the next Fabric if it plays its cards right.
Ernie’s Yard is certainly kicking things off in style, with a marathon series of 12 hour daytime parties featuring some of the best known promoters in the UK, including Percolate, Art of Dark, Secretsundaze, Feelings Worldwide, Goodlife, Syzygy, Adonis and Warm Up.
Ernie’s Yard will open on the 25th of June 2021 on Bidders Street, Canning Town. More information about the club can be found here.
