Innocent Season 2

Innocent Season 2 may have a new cast, set of characters and plot, but it has the same central conceit. Peter Gray reports.

You have to hand it to ITV’s Innocent. The series has bravely eschewed the normal path of television dramas by coming up with an entirely new cast, plot and set of characters for the second series of the show.

Indeed, the only thing that connects the two series is the central conceit, which asks the audience to decide whether the central character in the drama is innocent or guilty.

What is season 2 of the show about?

When a 16 year old schoolboy is brutally stabbed with a broken cider bottle, suspicion centres on his teacher Sally Wright, who had been having an affair with the lad.

Wright is quickly charged with murder and subsequently convicted; however, evidence soon emerges that brings her conviction into doubt.

“Innocent II is a thriller which keeps you guessing to the very end. Chris and Matt’s brilliant scripts are compelling and the characters incredibly relatable. We’re thrilled to be working again with TXTV and Chris Lang on a second instalment of Innocent” says ITV’s Drama Commissioner Huw Kennair Jones about the show.
