If you binge watched the show on TV, then you definitely won’t want to miss the forthcoming Secret Cinema Bridgerton Experience. Taking its cue from the stylish Netflix period drama, the event will offer fans of the series an immersive, three hour long adventure at a yet to be announced London location.

Centred around a glitzy ball, guests will be invited to “take on a path and title of their choosing for a debut into (im)polite society. To get them in the mood, Secret Cinema have arranged a series of ‘period’ activities for visitors to try: everything from duelling practice to etiquette lessons & life drawing.

And just to ensure that the event accurately recreates the atmosphere of the hit series, a string quartet will be on hand to reinterpret a series of pop hits – just like in the Netflix series.

A huge cast of actors and extras will also be on hand to bring the drama alive, however, unlike previous Secret Cinema events, the experience will not feature a screening. Nonetheless, key moments from the series will be replayed in a short film entitled ‘The Lumiere Brothers’ Incredible Moving Light Show’ .

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last year you won’t need us to tell you about Netflix’s blockbuster drama. With its mix of hot stars (Regé-Jean Page, Phoebe Dynevor), steamy plots, outrageous costumes, and modern pop soundtrack, Bridgerton has been a phenomenal success for the popular streaming platform, becoming the company’s no.1 show in 76 countries.

And even though the series has generated controversy due to its colour blind casting, reimagined period fashion and pop soundtrack, this has not proved a barrier to success.

It is no surprise therefore to see immersive screen legends Secret Cinema using the show as the basis for their latest project. Like many of the company’s previous productions, Bridgerton succeeds in creating its own world and instantly recognisable style.

The company’s creative director, Matt Costain, had this to say about the new experience: “Re-imagining the stunning world of the Netflix and Shondaland hit series Bridgerton and conjuring up Regency era London has been a pleasure.

“From casting and costumes to soundtrack and set design, Bridgeton has pushed boundaries and we’re excited to take this even further by bringing the scandalous world to life. This is an immersive experience that marries 1800s London with modern day special effects, while characters from Bridgerton move freely through the world, interacting with guests.

“Working with our production partners Fever, we’ve created a ball that will play out uniquely for each individual guest. Whether you wish to observe as part of The Ton, pose in the artist’s den, train at the boxing club, or take centre stage on the dancefloor, there’s something for everyone.”
