3 Henrietta St.

3 Henrietta St. is the name of the exciting new street food market that's coming to Covent Garden this autumn. Peter Gray reports.

If you love street food markets then you’re going to absolutely love 3 Henrietta St. Housed in an elegant 19th century townhouse in Covent Garden, the market will play host to a pair of exciting new restaurants, with a couple of top notch cafes thrown in for good measure.

Hawaiian-inspired restaurant El Ta’Koy will take up residence in the building’s basement. The eaterie, which will be overseen by Cuban maestro Luis Pous, will feature a tantalising mix of tacos, poke bowls & small bites, washed down with tiki-inspired cocktails.

The ground floor, meanwhile, will see acclaimed pastry chef Kimberly Lin (Corinthia, Claridge’s) baking up a storm at Lilly’s, her new terracotta hued cafe. Lin’s new venue is named after 17th century astrologer William Lilly and features a zodiac theme.

If you fancy a coffee to wash all those gorgeous pastrys, however – then look no further than The Gentlemen Baristas next door. The chain’s latest branch is set to open at 3 Henrietta St in mid september and it will feature the same winning combination of top notch coffee and breakfast/brunch favourites as the company’s other branches.

Finally, Scottish chef Mark Greenway’s Pivot will take pride of place on the first floor. The eaterie, which has been described as ‘a modern British restaurant that adapts with the seasons’ will feature monthly changing menus, four & six course set menus, and an emphasis on the best of British produce.

Greenway’s impressive creditenials include Edinburgh’s Restaurant Mark Greenaway, which was featured in Restaurant Magazine’s list of UK Top 100 Restaurants in 2014.
