You may be swapping Torquay for Tuscany this summer but that doesn’t mean you have to forego the pleasures of Italian cuisine. The Intercontinental, Park Lane is offering staycationing Londoners a tantalising taste of continental culinary flair with their A Taste of Italy at Theo Randall pop up.
The event, which will be hosted at Theo Randall’s acclaimed eaterie at the Mayfair hotel, will showcase a different region of Italy each month, with a host of signature dishes and authentic ingredients.
“Explore the flavours of Italian cuisine with the regional tasting menu inspired by Theo’s travels throughout Italy over the last 20 years. From Puglia and Tuscany to Liguria, Lombardia, Campania and Sicily, each menu will highlight special producers and regional ingredients alongside specially curated wine pairings” says the Intercontinental hotel website about the event.
The restaurant is currently showcasing the Veneto region (think beef carpaccio, fish stew and tiramisu) however, a menu show ssinv the cuisine of the Emilia-Romagna region is set to launch on the 1st of August 2021. This will include such classics as sheep’s ricotta & parmesan tortelloni, roasted guinea fowl stuffed with mascarpone, and chocolate, rum & nut cake.
So, if you fancy a little taste of Italy without setting foot on a place, then the Intercontinental is the place to be this summer!
The Taste of Italy Four Course Set Menu costs £50 per head which includes wine pairings.
