Popular restaurant chain Gunpowder are currently preparing to open their third branch in Soho. The company, who already have branches in Spitalfields Market and Tower Bridge, have taken up residence on Greek Street in a site formerly operated by Pizza Express.

Gunpowder Soho will offer up the usual selection of  moreish treats (Kashmiri lamb chops, venison doughnuts) together with a range of brand new sharing dishes devised especially for the new branch. There’ll be Whole mackerel with raw mango chutney, Half lobster on rice pancakes and Chettinad Duck skewers.

The restaurant chain is the brainchild of Harneet Baweja and Devina Seth. Taking inspiration from the private members clubs of Mumbai and Kolkata, the duo have set about creating a selection of dishes that recall the home style Indian cooking of their childhood. And after the success of their first two Gunpowder restaurants, great things are expected for their latest opening.

So, if home style Indian cooking is your thing – then Greek Street is definitely the place to be!
