A taste of Canada is in the offing at forthcoming Parsons Green restaurant West 4th this September. The eaterie, which was named after Vancouver’s West 4th Avenue, will open on New King’s Road in a space formerly occupied by Tell Your Friends restaurant.
Described as ‘a brunch restaurant by day and a wine bar by night’, the 60 cover venue will serve a range of Canadian staples, including Poutine (a mix of fries, gravy and cheese curds), pancake and waffle stacks and Eggs Benny. This will be augmented by a selection of Charcuterie boards and small plates.

Drinks wise, the usual selection of beers, wines and spirits will be complemented by West 4th’s own DIY Bloody Mary bar, with diners able to fashion their own unique twists on the popular cocktail from a selection of high quality ingredients. A selection of cocktails will also be available.
Scott’s and Clipstone Chef De Partie Joseph Berney is heading up the kitchen at the new venue, with the pastry chef most recently impressing at Bowleys at the Plough. According to the West 4th instagram account, Berney has “a particular talent for serving up a perfectly poached Eggs Benny” which should certainly stand him in good stead in his new role.

West 4th is the brainchild of Livia Boumeester and Louisa Stevenson-Hamilton. Having left the London corporate world to travel the world, the pair found themselves so inspired by Canadian cuisine that they decided to bring some back to England. The result is West 4th.
West 4th will open at 175 New Kings Road, London SW6 4SW on the 29th of September 2021. More information about the restaurant can be found here.
