We Londoners certainly love our cocktails, so much so, in fact, that we’ve now completely dispensed with the all too brief London cocktail week in favour of a whole month of cocktail guzzling. London Cocktail Month 2021 will stretch from the 1st to the 30th of October 2021 with a host of thrilling events, participating bars, and tempting offers.
Right at the centre of the event will be Covent Garden’s The Essence House. The two-floor venue been transformed into an ‘immersive, multi-sensorial experience’ for the event, which will offer visitors a chance to ‘uncover their palate and its flavour preferences’ while sipping on some wicked cocktails.
Here are a selection of the highlights of the event:
BrewDog Distilling Co’s Lost Forest
Popular distiller BrewDog are promising to transform their upper level bar into a thriving Scottish Forest where it will host a series of forest themed events. Visitors to the site will be invited to ‘escape to the wilderness and head into the woods to experience and incredible range of bespoke cocktails made using some of BrewDog’s famous brews.
And just to ensure that the company are playing their part in helping the environment, every element of the cocktails served will be edible – from the cups to the liquid to the garnish!
The BrewDog Distilling Co. Lost Forest Party will take place between 8 and 11pm on the 12th of October 2021. Tickets cost £15 and can be purchased here.
Interactive Cocktail Class: Espresso Martini and Margarita
This fun Shoreditch event will offer participants a chance to learn how to expertly mix iconic classic cocktails while being regaled with the stories of how they came to be.
Cocktail lover will get behind the bar to learn how to blend and shake an Espresso Martini and a Margarita with the skill of a professional bartender and learn about the spirits and ingredients that make the cocktails more than the sum of their parts, including multi-award winning spirits, Wheatley Vodka and Corazón Tequila.
Meanwhile, a cocktail historian will detail how the Espresso Martini was invented for a well-known super-model in Soho late one night, and how the Margarita was first introduced to the world in Esquire Magazine in the 1950s.
The Espresso Martini and Margarita Interactive Cocktail Class will take place on the 8th, 16th, 21st and 30th of October 2021 at Milroy’s of Spitalfields, 76 Commercial Street, London, E1 6LY. Tickets for the event cost £15 and can be purchased here.
