Forthcoming Southwark shopping and dining development, Borough Yards, has released details of the first food & drink openings at its South London site.
Barrafina, Parrillan and Bar Daskal are among a handful of hospitality venues set to make the move to Southwark when the venue opens in 2022.
The three venues have quite a bit in common as they are all owned by the acclaimed Harts Group which is made up of brothers Sam, Eddie, and James.

DIY chain Parillian, meanwhile, will be launching their second restaurant following the opening of their popular Coal Drops Yard site in 2019.
The venue will feature the now famous Parillian grills which guests can use to cook their food. The chefs will also use a wood-fired grill to cook the stunning ingredients gently over the flames.

The duo will be accompanied by a new venue, Bar Daskal. A Spanish wine, sherry and tapas bar, the venue is named after Sam, Eddie, and James Hart’s grandfather Vladimir Daskalof, a Bahaus artist (1930s), Ballearic painter, sculptor, designer, and sailor (1940s-60s) who worked under the name ‘Daskal.’
Bar Daskal will show a rare permanent exhibition of Daskal’s artworks, which have been in private collections until now. The design of the space will also be inspired by the house in Estellencs and its surrounding area.

“My love of Spain and its cuisine began as a child in the house my grandfather built in the small village of Estellencs” says Sam Hart of his families interest in food. “Even though Barrafina was modelled on Barcelona’s Cal Pep, the legacy of C’an Daskal has been an ever-present influence throughout my career. It is wonderful to honour these memories by bringing Bar Daskal, Barrafina and Parrillan south of the river.”
