Lisboeta Restaurant

A dose of sunny Lisbon is on the menu at Nuno Mendes' forthcoming Lisboeta Restaurant. Peter Gray reports.

At a time when travelling abroad is so full of obstacles and challenges, experiencing a little continental charm right here in the capital is truly a blessing and Nuno Mendes’ Lisboeta restaurant certainly fits that description.

The eaterie sees Mendes team up with the MUMK group who also own Caso Do Frango for what is being described as “a little slice of Lisbon in the heart of Fitzrovia”.

Taking over a site on Charlotte Street which formerly housed the restaurant L’etoile, Lisboeta will be set over three floors, with a Portuguese style white washed dining room, a bar recalling Lisbon’s celebrated café scene and another dining space in the basement.

The menu pays homage to Portugal, too, with a range of small, large, and sharing plates which Mendes says will showcase the ‘young, vibrant food culture, produce, wine and the gastronomic heritage of my home, in a playful and thoughtful way.’

Lisboeta restaurant opens at 30 Charlotte Street in the Spring of 2022. More information about the restaurant can be found here.
