Pop supergroup Superorganism have today confirmed details of their second album and latest tour. Entitled World Wide Pop, the album will be released on the 15th of July 2022, with the tour to follow in September 2022.
“WAZZZZZZZURRRP my dudes it’s been a while!” said Superorganism lead singer Orono in an email to the group’s fans. “We’re finally BACK with a whole new album, titled WORLD WIDE POP 💿✨ It’s gonna be out on July 15th, you can pre-order it now on ~earth~ or ~gold~ colored vinyl, CD AND cassette for you retro kings and queens 🤤”.
Orono’s message went on to give information about the new release with the singer revealing to her followers that she wrote the lionshare of the album’s lyrics in 2018 and 2019. “Tbh I don’t fully remember the context behind the words and stuff haha” she said, “so you guys can help me figure that out as we embark on this hectic LP2 journey”.
While Orono did not share details of individual tracks in the message, the singer did reveal that the group’s comeback single would be called Teenager. Describing the song as “an absolute smash-hit #1 banger”, Orono confided that the song had seen the group team up with ‘pals’ CHAI from Japan and ‘Pi Ja Ma’ from France while the video featured a collaboration with ‘the one, the only, Brian Jordan Alvarez.’ “I’m a huge huge fan of his” said Orono about the actor, comedian and filmmaker,
In support of the album, Superorganism will embark on a mammoth world tour with dates in the UK, EU, and North America. With tickets sure to be in high demand, Orono also revealed that anyone pre-ordering the album from the group’s website (or merely subscribing to the website in the US) would be given special access to tickets.
All in all, it looks like it’s gonna be a massive year for Superorganism and for the band’s many fans.
